Pesapal Receives License from Bank of Uganda

Pesapal Uganda has received a nod from the Bank of Uganda to operate as a Payment System Operator. The firm’s Uganda Country Director Martin Barungi said with the license, Pesapal will be able to alter the face of digital services in Uganda and the country’s financial infrastructure.

This payment platform will be able to provide cashless transactions, boost financial inclusion and speed up how firms can get access their funds or get paid.

This payment gateway used by clients to process payments through mobile cash platforms, plastic cards and mobile banking.

” We bring together local Mobile money payment methods, VISA, MasterCard and American Express where by connecting once, you have access to all for both online, and over the counter payments,” said Barungi.

Emmy Rono PesaPal, Uganda County Manager, said the license from the Bank of Uganda would change the way digital payments are made by introducing convenience, security and innovation.

Tourists, shoppers, and businesses can make male multiple-currency transactions from any platform, either online, in a 3D environment or in-store, riding on the Pesapal point of sale devices.

This payment gateway intends to empower Africa to access affordable, convenient, and secure digital financial services that drive sustainable growth.

The firm said that its formal foray into the Pearl of Africa, the source of the Nile, is a fitting step toward this future.
