In a gazette notice published on Friday, Kenya’s National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich has after four years confirmed Mr Paul Muthaura as the CEO of Capital Markets Authority Kenya, to serve for a period of four years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 (1) of the Capital Markets Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury appoints Paul Muriithi Muthaura to be the Chief Executive of the Capital Markets Authority, for a period of four years, with effect from the 2nd January, 2016,” the gazette notice dated March 24 read.
Muthaura’s confirmation comes after a long wait, a position he has served in acting capacity for a period of four years, since July 2012.
Muthaura has a Master’s degree in banking and finance law and has more than 10 years experience in capital markets and over four years experience in law.
