    Ex Stanbic Uganda CEO to Head Kenyan Unit

    Patrick Mweheire is the new chief executive of Stanbic Holdings plc effective 3rd March 2020. Mweheire was the immediate former chief executive of Stanbic Bank Uganda.

    In addition, Mr. Mweheire will serve as a non-executive director on the board of Stanbic Bank Kenya limited.

    Mr Mweheire will take over from Gregory Brackenridge who retired after being at the helm since 28 July 2016.

    Mweheire has over 25 years banking, capital markets, and advisory experience across Africa. He also holds an MBA from Harvard University.

    In his new capacity, Mr. Mweheire will oversee Stanbic operations across the East Africa region; Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.

    Further, the board announced the appointment of Ms. Ory Okolloh as an independent non executive director on the boards of Stanbic Holdings plc and Stanbic Bank Kenya. Ms. Okolloh will enhance the diversity on the two boards and is in line with the Bank’s digital transformation strategy.
