Operations at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport are expected to be grounded tomorrow, as Kenya Aviation Workers Union remains adamant that they will proceed with their strike to protest the KAA-KQ takeover deal.
KAWU, which has about 10,000 members, says their industrial action will commence on 6 February 2019 after talks between them and KAA hit a snag.
The lobby group called upon its KAA members to boycott their workstations, until the takeover modalities, including the expected redundancies, is addressed.
KAA managing director Johnny Andersen maintains the strike is premature to do so since the proposed takeover is at a nascent stage.
