    NSE Turnover Surpasses KSh 1 Billion

    NSE Turnover Surpasses KSh 1 Billion

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange rose slightly to Ksh 1.07 Billion. A total of 38.78 million shares were traded in 1,113 deals. Top mover of the day was Safaricom with a turnover of Ksh 574.36 million. Safaricom closed the day at Ksh 26.85 per share. Safaricom Book Closure is on 31st July.

    Equity Group moved 10.13 million shares valued at Ksh 321.82 million. Equity was trading at an average of Ksh 31.75 per share. The bank’s stock closed with a 3.79% end of day share price depreciation. KCB Group moved 3.59 million shares valued at Ksh 122.93 million in 94 deals. KCB was trading between Ksh 34.10 and Ksh 35.00. KCB ended the day with a 1.58% share price depreciation.

    ABSA realized a turnover of Ksh 4.66 million in 77 deals. ABSA stock was trading at Ksh 9.02 per share

    KPLC saw a turnover of Ksh 1.17 million. KPLC was trading at an average of Ksh 1.89 per share closing the day 1.56% lower than Tuesday’s price. Energy sector counterpart Total Kenya closed the day at Ksh 24.10 per share. Total Kenya shareholders will receive a Ksh 1.30 first and final dividend on 31st July.

    Top gainer of the day was Longhorn Publishers with an 8.41% share price appreciation. Longhorn closed the day at Ksh 4.90 per share. Other gainers of the day were: Sanlam Kenya(7.69%), Standard Group(6.90%), CIC Insurance(5.75%) and I&M Holdings(2.99%). CIC Insurance closed at Ksh 49.95 per share.

    Olympia Capital saw a 10% share price depreciation at the end of trading. Other losers of the day were Nation Media(4.05%), Equity Group(3.79%), Flame Tree Group(3.33%) and Nairobi Business Venture(3.33%)

    The NSE All Share Index gained 0.02 points to close at 131.03. The NSE 20 share index declined 19.80 points to close at 1886.45 while the NSE 25 declined 12.16 points to close at 3064.48
