    NSE Turnover Slides to KSh 888.3 Million

    On Monday’s trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, 42 million shares were traded in 1,057 deals, corresponding to a market value of KSh 888,267,401.00.

    The exchange recorded 11% decline in volume, 20% decline in turnover, and 9% decline in deals from Friday’s trading. On Friday, NSE market turnover stood at KSh 1.1 Billion.

    On Monday’s trading, Britam led the gainers with 9.57% share price appreciation closing at KSh 10.65 per share, followed by Stanbic (8.44%), Eveready(7.92%) and Centum(5.49%).

    On the losing side, Standard Group came out last with an end-of-day price depreciation of 8.77% closing at KSh 20.80 per share, followed by Flame Tree Group, Kenya Airways and Sameer Africa Plc.

    Britam recorded the highest volume of 21.1 Million traded shares, followed by Safaricom (13.44 Million), Equity Group (1.7 Million) and KCB Group (1.5 Million).

    The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] gained 0.37 points to close at 143.25. The NSE 20 Share Index gained 11.18 points to close at 2022.95. The NSE 25 Share Index gained 14.25 points to close at 3300.18

    Several listed firms are scheduled to hold their virtual Annual General Meetings including BAT( 24th June, Kenya Airways(26th June), Total Kenya(26th June) and Stanbic Holdings(Jun 29th).
