Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) rose to KSh 670.97 Million when a volume of 25.72 Million shares was transacted in 2,284 deals when trading closed this Friday 28th August 2020. This is compared to a turnover of KSh 495.17 Million on Thursday 27th August 2020.
The NSE All Share Index was up 1.48 points to 138.74 from 137.26. The NSE 20 Share Index gained 22.58 points from 1,771.18 to 1,793.76 while the NSE 25 Share index rose 28.49 points to 3,186.97 from the previous 3,186.97.
The biggest mover was Safaricom with a volume of 11.73 Million shares traded followed by Equity( 3.79 Million), KCB(2.30 Million), Bamburi(1.99 Million) and KPLC( 1.77 Million).
The top gainer was Nation Media Group whose price rose 7.42% to KSh 13.75. It was followed by NSE, Stanbic Holdings, Flame Tree Group and KenGen.
The losers were led by Uchumi followed by Olympia Capital Holdings, Nairobi Business Ventures, Home Africa and Stanlib Fahari I-REIT.
The derivatives market recorded a slight decline in turnover during this Friday 28th August, 2020 trading session with 6 contracts valued at KSh191,500 as compared to Thursday’s trading session with 6 contracts valued at KSh 195,370.
The secondary bond market recorded an increase in activity during Friday 28th August 2020 session with bonds worth KSh 4.95 billion transacted in 142 deals.
This is compared to the KSh 3.11 billion achieved in 134 deals during the 27th August, Thursday trading session.
