    NSE turnover rises 657% to KSh 659.7 Million

    NSE turnover rises 657% to KSh 659.7 Million

    Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) posted an increase of 657% in turnover to KSh 659.7 Million when trading at the bourse ended today, 8th December 2020.

    This level is compared to a turnover of KSh 87.1 Million on Monday, 7th December 2020.

    The bourse moved a volume of 21.2 Million shares in 904 deals, a 555% improvement.

    The prime mover was Equity Group with a volume of 9.02 Million, followed by Safaricom (4.13 Million), Coop Bank (2.18 Million), KCB (1.21 Million), and KPLC (1.13 Million)

    The top price gainer was Longhorn Publishers, which was up 8.24% to KSh 4.86, followed by Eveready East Africa, which was up 6.96% to KSh 1.23, Express Kenya, which was up 4.65% to KSh 2.70, TransCentury, which gained 4.13% to KSh 1.26 and Jubilee which rose 3.70% to KSh 280.00

    The worst performing counters included BOC Kenya, HFCK, CIC Group, I&M Holdings, and Carbacid Investments, which slid by 9.06%, 8.79%, 4.19%, 3.93%, and 3.77% to KSh 57.75, KSh 3.01, KSh 2.06, KSh 44.05 and KSh 11.50 respectively.

    NSE All-Share Index

    The benchmark NSE All-Share Index declined 0.18 points to end the day at 146.57. The NSE 20 Share Index declined 2.47 points to settle at 1780.30. The NSE 25 Share Index declined 7.56 points to end the day’s trading session at 3286.09.

    The derivatives market had 46 single stocks futures contracts valued at KSh 1.24 Million transacted. This is compared to 25 deals valued at KSh 1.8 million concluded this Monday, 7th December 2020.

    Bonds worth KSh 2.96 Billion were traded in 68 deals at this Tuesday 8th December 2020 session. This is compared to KSh 1.73 Billion achieved in 46 deals at Monday’s trading session.
