    NSE turnover rises to KSh 494.7 Million

    NSE turnover rises to KSh 494.7 Million

    Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) made a turnover of KSh 494.7 Million when trading ended this Monday, 22nd March 2021. This figure is compared to a turnover of KSh 260.3 Million when trading closed at the bourse on Friday, 19th March 2021.

    NSE Indices

    The benchmark indices commenced the week on a lower note, except for the NASI index, which gained 0.34% to 167.50 points while the NSE 20 Index was down 0.12% to 1931.35 points while the NSE 25 Index was down 0.04% to 3709.84 points.

    Foreign buys were KSh 268.8 Million, making up 54.39% of the total market, while foreign sales amounted to KSh 259.0 Million, making up 52.42% of the market.

    A note from Standard Investment Bank(SIB) shows that the top losers were led by EA Cables which was down 5.8% to KSh 1.30, Flame Tree Group which declined 5.4% to KSh 1.22.

    Stanbic Holdings lost 3.2% to KSh 82.50, Liberty Holdings, which declined 3% to KSh 8.50 and Eveready, which lost 2.9 % of its price to close at KSh 1.00.

    Top Gainers

    Leading gainers were led by HF, which was up 9.9% to KSh 3.76, TransCentury, which gained 7.1% to trade at KSh 1.20. WPP ScanGroup gained 4.7% to KSh 5.76, Umeme was up 4.2% to KSh 6.90, while Nairobi Business Ventures gained 3.4% to KSh 4.29.

    Top movers were Safaricom, whose price was up 0.8% to KSh 38.90, followed by Equity Bank, whose share price fell 0.6% to KSh 41.40 with a turnover of KSh 94.1 Million.

    Jubilee gained 3.1% to KSh 293.75 and a turnover of 27.9 Million. KCB declined 11% to end the trading session at KSh 40.90 with a turnover of KSh 18.2 Million, while EABL was the 5th top mover, its share price at KSh 170 on a turnover of KSh 16.3 Million.
