    NSE Turnover Rises 6% to KSh561.86 Million

    NSE Turnover Rises 6% to KSh561.86 Million

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) stood at KSh 561.86 Million when trading closed at the bourse this Friday, 27th November 2020. This is compared to a turnover of KSh 529.2 Million recorded on Thursday, 26th November 2020.

    The top gainer was Carbacid Investments Limited as the market reacted to news of its plan to acquire the entire stake of BOC Kenya Plc.

    Carbacid prices were up 9.76% to KSh 10.80, the second day in a row that it has been the market’s top price gainer. Express Kenya was the second top gainer, its price up 7.915 to KSh 3.00, while TransCentury edged 7,63% to trade at KSh 1.27 per share.

    Sameer Africa shares were up 7.535 to KSh 3.00 while HFCK gained 6.80% to close the day at KSh 3.30.

    The worst performers were led by KPLC which was down 6.85% to KSh 1.36 followed by Flame Tree Group Holdings, which slid 6.43% to KSh 1.31 and Stanbic Holdings which fell 4.82% to KSh 79.0.

    Investors also voted with their wallets on the Centum counter, pushing down its share price 4.49% to KSh 17.00. Centum released its financials today, considered its worst performance since.

    Sanlam was the 5th worst performing counter of the day, its share price sliding 4.35% to settle at KSh 11.00.

    Equity Group was the day’s prime mover, trading a volume of 6.03 Million shares. It was followed by KCB( 3.95 Million), Safaricom(3.91 Million), KPLC(654,700) and EABL(270,100).

    The NSE 20 Share Index was down 9.29 points to 1781.09 while the NSE 25 Share Index was up 0.63 points to 3267.31.

    The benchmark NSE All-Share Index gained marginally by o.05 points to close the day at 143.98 from the previous 143.93.

    While the derivatives market had no activity this Friday, bonds worth KSh 3.11 billion were transacted in 71 deals. This is compared to the KSh 3.45 billion worth of bonds transacted this Thursday.
