    NSE Turnover Remains Steady at KSh 1.1 Billion

    NSE Turnover Remains Steady at KSh 1.1 Billion

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) rose marginally from KSh 1.08 Billion to KSh 1.09 Billion when trading closed at the bourse this Friday, 4th December 2020.

    The volume of shares traded stood at 34,353,700 shares in 817 deals, 2% improvement in volume. HF Group Plc was the top price gainer, with its share price rising 9.51% to KSh 3.34. Others were Eveready, BAT, Uchumi, and Bamburi Cement.

    Nairobi Business Ventures(NBV) was the worst performer, its price falling 8.51% to KSh 4.30. Other price laggards were Express Kenya, Olympia Capital Holdings, Crown Paints, and Diamond Trust Bank.

    Safaricom was the day’s biggest mover with a volume of 24.6 million traded shares. Others were KCB(5.25Million), Kenya Power & Lighting Company (2.43Million), Nairobi Business Ventures (525,700), and EABL( 247,800).

    The benchmark NSE All Share Index(NASI) gained 1.36 points to close at 148.12 from 146.76. The NSE 20 Share Index was up 7.97 points to close at 1786.42 from 1778.46. The NSE 25 Share Index gained 14.28 points to close at 3312.97 from 3298.69.

    The derivatives had 4 Safaricom single stock futures contracts valued at KSh 130,000 concluded during the Friday session.

    Bonds worth KSh 779.7 Million were transacted in 37 deals against KSh 1.35 Billion worth of bonds at the previous trading session.
