The Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) recorded a 54% increase in Equity Turnover to KSh 300.2 Million with a total of 7,475,200 shares exchanging hands in 1,174 deals.
Compared with Monday’s data, there was a 64% decline in volume, and with deals concluded down 2% decline.
Umeme Limited was the day’s top price gainer with 8.43% share price appreciation closing at KSh 7.20 per share, followed by TPS Eastern Africa Serena, which gained 4.17% to KSh 15, KenGen which was down 3.49% to KSh 4.74 and Home Afrika which was down 2.7% to KSh 0.38.
Standard Group was the worst performer with an end-of-day price depreciation of 7.11% to KSh 17.65 per share, followed by Uchumi Supermarket, which was down 4% to KSh 0.24, Total Kenya which declined by 3.27% to KSh 25.15 and Kenya Power & Lighting Company, which lost 2.14% to KSh 1.37.
Safaricom recorded the highest volume of 2.8 Million traded shares, followed by Equity Group Holdings (1.72Million), KenGen (523,700) and Nairobi Business Ventures (437,000).
NSE INDICES
The benchmark NSE All Share Index (NASI) inched up 0.34 (0.18%) points to close at 188.20, representing a 1-week gain of 0.39%, a 4-week gain of 6.24%, and an overall year-to-date gain of 23.73%.
The NSE 20 Share Index gained 0.52%; representing a one week gain of 1.73%; and 8.7% gain YTD, NSE 25 Share Index was up 0.18%; representing a one week gain of 0.33%; and 19.72% gain YTD.
