    NSE turnover edges up 37% to KSh 365.84 Million

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) stood at KSh 365.84 Million on a volume of 14.14 Million shares and 787 deals.

    The prime mover was ABSA Bank which traded a volume of 5.38 Million followed by Safaricom(4.83 Million), KCB(862,700), Co-operative Bank(586,500), and KPLC( 562,400).

    The top price gainers were led by Bank of Kigali which was up 9.52% to KSh 13.80 followed by Stanbic Holdings which rose 4.85% to KSh 81.00, Liberty Kenya which was up 3.59% to KSh 7.50, Total which rose 2.91% to KSh 22.95 and Home Afrika which gained 2.50% to KSh 0.41.

    The worst performing counters were led by Trans Century, which declined 9.63% to KSh 1.22. It was followed by TPS Serena which lost 7.54% to KSh 14.40, Olympia Capital which was down 6.97% to KSh 1.87, Carbacid Investments which shed 6.59% to close at KSh 8.22 and Housing Finance which was down 6.45% to KSh 3.19.

    All indices at the bourse were up with the NSE 20 Share index rising 4.27 points to 1787.45. The NSE 25 Share Index rose 6.70 to 3290.15 while the benchmark NSE All-Share Index climbed 0.04% to 144.51.

    There was no activity in the derivatives market. Bonds worth KShn 2.61 Billion were transacted compared to KSh 4.10 Billion worth of bonds transacted prior.
