    NSE turnover drops to KSh 373.9 Million

    NSE turnover drops to KSh 373.9 Million

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) declined to KSh 373.87 on a volume of 15.3 Million and 660 deals.

    The NSE 20 Share Index declined 0.67 points to 1769.54 from 1770.21 the previous day, while the NSE 25 Share index climbed 17.47 points to 3200.41 from the previous 3182.94.

    The benchmark NSE All-Share Index also edged up to 141.32 from 140.90.

    Kenya Reinsurance Corporation led the 5 top prime movers at the NSE with 4.57 Million, followed by Equity Group (3.42 Million), Safaricom (3.20 Million), KCB (2.06 Million), and Britam (516,900).

    The top price gainer was Express Kenya, which was up 8.61% to KSh 3.91, followed by Uchumi supermarket, which was up 7.14% to KSh 0.30, Stanbic Holdings, which was up 5.96% to KSh 80.00, Stanlib Fahari REIT, which climbed 3% to KSh 5.50 and Carbacid Investments which was up 2.99% to KSh 8.96.

    The worst performers were led by Eveready, which declined 9.09% to KSh 0.90, Kenya Reinsurance, which was down 7.34% to KSh 2.02, Liberty Kenya holdings, which declined 4.09% to KSh 7.50, Flame Tree Group Holdings, which was down 3.47% to KSh 1.39 and NSE which lost 3% to close at KSh 7.76.
