    NSE Turnover Dips 58% to KSh 446 Million

    NSE Turnover Dips 58% to KSh 446 Million

    Trading on Thursday at Nairobi Securities Exchange saw a turnover of Ksh 446.89 million in 1,062 deals. A total of 17.04 million shares were traded. Safaricom moved 7.2 million shares valued at Ksh 198.04 million. Safaricom closed with an end of day price appreciation of 2.42% to close at Ksh 27.50 per share.

    ABSA moved 2.64 million shares worth Ksh 23.73 million. ABSA closed at Ksh 9.00 per share. KCB Group was trading at an average of Ksh 34.30 per share. Equity Group moved 2.48 million shares valued at Ksh 66.16 million. Equity was trading between Ksh 31.75 and Ksh 32.80

    KPLC saw a turnover of Ksh 955,041. KPLC was trading at an average of Ksh 1.92 per share.

    Top gainer of the day was BK Group with a 7.78% share price appreciation to close at Ksh 18.00 per share. Other gainers of the day were: Nairobi Business Ventures(3.45%), Eveready(2.97%), Uchumi Supermarkets(2.86%) and Flame Tree Group(2.76%)

    Longhorn Publishers shed off 6.33% of its share price value to close at Ksh 4.59 per share. Other losers of the day were: Standard Group(4.17%), Sameer Africa(3.90%), I&M Holdings(3.90%) and East African Cables(3.49%). I&M moved shares worth Ksh 153,600 to close at Ksh 1.95 per share.

    Williamson Tea saw a turnover of Ksh 1.31 million in 4 deals. Nation Media group saw a turnover of Ksh 1.03 million closing at Ksh 11.70 per share.

    Co-operative Bank was trading at an average of Ksh 11.45 per share. Co-operative realized a turnover of Ksh 4.9 million in 79 deals. NCBA saw a turnover of Ksh 3.5 million with the bank’s stock closing at Ksh 25.15 per share. Standard Chartered realized a turnover of Ksh 1.2 million to close at Ksh 156 per share.

    The NSE All Share Index gained 1.41 points to close at 132.44. The NSE 20 share index declined 5.61 points to close at 1880.84 while the NSE 25 gained 8.04 points to close at 3072.52
