    NSE Turnover Declines 57% to KSh 710.84 Million

    NSE Turnover Declines 57% to KSh 710.84 Million

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange( NSE) declined 57% to KSh 710.84 Million on a volume of 22.6 Million shares in 812 deals.

    Safaricom was the biggest mover at the NSE with 10.67 Million shares moved, followed by KCB(7.83 Million), KPLC(1.13 Million), ABSA( 480,400) and NSE( 439,900).

    All indices at the NSE were down with the NSE 20 Share Index falling 7.76 points to 1752.17 while the NSE 25 fell 9.63 to 3254.52. The NSE All-Share Index declined by 0.81 points to 144.39 from 145.20 previously.

    The NSE top price gainer was Nairobi Business Ventures, followed by Bank of Kigali which was up 9.26% to KSh 14.75. Carbacid Investments was up 8% to KSh 12.80, Trans-Century rose 4.72% to KSh 1.33 while Olympia Capital Holdings share price increased by 4.55% to KSh 2.30.

    The worst performers at the NSE were led by Umeme Limited which was down 8.89% to KSh 6.56, Flame Tree Group Holdings which lost 5.80% to KSh 1.30, Crown which declined 4.25% to trade at KSh 38.80 and HFCK which was down 3.95% to KSh 3.16
