    NSE Turnover Declines to KSh 307.05 Million

    NSE Turnover Declines to KSh 307.05 Million

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) fell to KSh 307.05 Million when the trading closed today, a big drop from Friday’s turnover of KSh 502.46 Million.

    The volume of shares traded declined to 14.83 Million from Friday’s volume of 20.09 Million.

    Safaricom was the top mover with 5.39 Million shares traded followed by Co-operative Bank(2.14 Million), Absa(1.78 Million), Britam( 1.52 Million) and KCB(778,600).

    The top gainer was Nairobi Business Ventures, whose price rose 10% to KSh 0.66 followed by Olympia Capital Holdings which was up 6.64% to KSh 2.25, Stanlib Fahari Income REIT which was up 3.97% to KSh 5.24, Equity which edged 3.46% to KSh 37.35 and Nation Media Group whose prices climbed 2.59% to KSh 17.80.

    The biggest losers were led by Flame Tree Group whose price declined 7.86% to KSh 1.29, Unga which declined by 6.25% to KSh 30.00, Sameer Africa which declined 4.70% to KSh 3.85, Umeme Limited declined 4.63% to KSh 7.00 and East African Cables which fell 2.61% to KSh 1.49.

    The NSE 25 Share Index rose 11.80 points from 3242.38 to 3254.18 while the NSE 20 Share Index edged 1847.63 to 1850.21, an increase of 2.58 points. The NSE All-Share Index declined from 140.37 to KSh 140.09
