    NSE Turnover Declines 47% to KSh 151 Million

    NSE Turnover Declines 47% to KSh 151 Million

    The Nairobi Securities Exchange closed the week(Friday, July 3rd) with 6.25 million shares traded, valued at KSh 151.1 million.

    Top mover of the day was Equity Group with 2.1 million shares traded. Equity shares traded at between Ksh. 32.65 and Ksh. 34.00. Equity turnover for the day was KSh 69.17 million in 218 deals. Friday also saw Kenya Airways shares suspended from trading.

    Safaricom was trading between KSh 29.00 and KSh 30 moving 943,900 shares in 93 deals. Safaricom turnover for the day was KSh 28.01 million. Other top movers of the day were KCB, KPLC, and Kengen. KCB was trading between Ksh. 34.90 and Ksh. 35.90. KCB turnover for the day was 30.31 million. KPLC saw a turnover of Ksh. 1.6 million while Kengen realized a turnover of Ksh. 3 million in 50 deals

    Cooperative Bank saw a turnover of 1.63 million closing the day with a 1.67% share price appreciation. The bank’s stock was trading at an average of KSh 12.20. NCBA saw a turnover of KSh 1.55 million in 24 deals. Diamond Trust Bank saw a turnover of KSh 2.32 million in 7 deals. The bank’s stock was trading between KSh 69.00 and KSh 71.50

    Top gainer of the day was East African Portland Cement with a 9.92% share price appreciation. Other gainers of the day were Car and General(9.89%), Home Afrika(6.98%), Eveready(5.00%), and Jubilee Holdings(4.60%).

    Losers of the day were Total Kenya(4.67%), WPP Scangroup(3.77%), NSE(2.05%), BK Group(1.67%) and Flame Tree Group(1.42%)
