    NSE Equity Turnover Ups to KSh 909M

    NSE Equity Turnover Ups to KSh 909M

    The NSE recorded an increase in daily equity turnover to KSh 909 Million compared to KSh 858 Million on Friday last week with 26.8 Million changing hands compared to last week’s close of 23 Million shares.

    The Derivatives Market had a total of 12 contracts valued at KSh 452,000 transacted in Monday’s trading session. The KCB Single Stock Futures contract expiring in 16th March 2023 traded 11 contracts valued at KSh 419,000 at a price of KSh38.16. This is against a closing price of KSh36.50 posted by KCB in the spot market.

    NSE INDICES PERFORMANCE

    The NSE 20 share Index was down 1.55 points to stand at 1754.02 while the All Share Index NASI was up 0.25 points to stand at 144.98.
    The NSE 25 Share Index shed 5.18 points to stand at 3274.67.

    The Banking Sector had shares worth KSh 114Million transacted which accounted for 12.54% of the day’s traded value.

    KCB Group actively moved 1Million shares valued at KSh 38.7Million at between KSh 36.00 and KSh 37.00. Equity Group Holdings was down 2.33% to KSh46.05 and moved 839,000 shares valued at KSh38.6Million. Standard Chartered Bank Kenya moved 186,000 shares valued at KSh 23Million and closed at KSh124.75.

    The Energy & Petroleum sector had shares valued at KSh3.1Million traded representing 0.35% of the day’s traded value. Umeme Limited traded 314,000 shares valued at KSh 2.4Million at between KSh7.70 and KSh8.00.

    The Manufacturing & Allied sector had shares valued at KSh77Million traded representing 8.47% of the day’s traded value. E.A Breweries moved 548,000 shares valued at KSh 76.8Million at between KSh139.25 and KSh142.00.

    Safaricom was the day’s main feature with 22Million shares valued at KSh713Million changing hands at between KSh32.00 and KSh 32.50; this represented 78.42% of the day’s traded value. The Bond market had bonds worth KSh4.4Billion transacted.
