The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) turnover increased to KSh 610.46 million on Friday from Thursday’s turnover of KSh 280.6 million. Traders exchanged 17.47 Million shares up from 10.5 million shares traded on Thursday.
The prime mover at the bourse was Safaricom which traded 13.40 Million shares followed by KCB (2.37 Million), EABL (616,500), WPP ScanGroup (263,700) and Co-operative Bank (133,700).
Standard Group Plc was the day’s top price gainer with its stock price rising by 9.8% to KSh 21.85. It was followed by Flame Tree Group which edged up 6.43% to KSh 1.49, East African Cables which climbed 6.0% to KSh 1.59, Carbacid Investments which rose 5.94% to KSh 8.92 and CIC Group which increased 5.80% to KSh 2.19
The biggest losers were led by Bank of Kigali which lost 6.79% to sell at KSh 13.05. It was followed by Sanlam Kenya which lost 3.60% to KSh 12.05, Stanbic Holdings fell by 3.27% to KSh 81.25, NSE which lost 3.10% to trade at KSh 8.14 and KenGen which declined by 2.29% to KSh 5.12.
The NSE 20 Share Index lost 0.33% to close at 1799.29 on Friday from the previous 1805.26 points the previous day. The NSE 25 Share Index fell from 3216.95 to 3216.66 points or a drop of 0.01% while NSE All-Share edged up 0.35% from 140.72 to 141.21 points.
