    NSE Records a Turnover of KSh 237.4 Million

    NSE Records a Turnover of KSh 237.4 Million

    Equity turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) edged up to KSh 237.44 Million when trading at the bourse closed this Friday, 2nd October 2020. This is compared to a turnover of KSh 145.39 Million on Thursday this week.

    The volume of shares traded hit 9.90 Million compared to 8.79 Million shares traded on Thursday.

    The prime mover at the bourse was Safaricom which traded a volume of 4.29 Million shares followed by Absa Bank(1.63 Million), Kenya Reinsurance(635,100), Kenya Power(461,400) and Equity Group( 346,300).

    The top 5 gainers were led by BK Group, whose price rose 9.77% to KSh 14.60. It was followed by Jubilee which rose 9.68% to KSh 291.75, WPPScangroup went up 7.14 % to KSh 7.50, CIC Group share price rose 3.79% to KSh 2.19 and Eveready shares rose 3.19% to KSh 0.97 when trading closed today.

    The worst performing counters were led by Home Afrika which dropped 6.82% to KSh 0.41, Sasini Plc, Stanlib Fahari REIT, Longhorn Publishers which dropped 4.04% to KSh 4.51 and Centum which lost 3.15% of its value to trade at KSh 20.00.

    The NSE All-Share index rose 0.24% from 139.88 to 140.22 while the NSE 20 Share Index went down by 0.19% from 3248.77 to 3242.54. The NSE 20 Share Index declined 0.8% from 1855.53 to 1852.17.
