    NSE Equity Turnover Drops to KSh 123m

    NSE Equity Turnover Drops to KSh 123m

    NSE daily equity turnover declined on the first day of this trading week to KSh 123 m on 5m shares compared to KSh 324m on the sale of 14m shares. The NSE 20 share index was up 0.78 points to 1688.60, while the All Share Index shed 0.16 points to 129.68. The NSE 25 share index was up 11.10 points to stand at 3077.82.

    NSE TOP GAINERS AND LOSERS

    The top gainer was Olympia which rose 8.96% from KSh 2.10 to KSh 2.19, while the top loser was Bamburi which declined by 7.54% from KSh 35.15 to KSh 32.50.

    The Banking sector moved shares worth KSh 29 m, which accounted for 23.17% of the day’s traded value. Co-op Bank sold 1m shares valued at KSh 12m between KSh 11.80 and KSh 12.50. SCBK moved 44,000 shares valued at KSh 5.5m, while Equity Group was up 2.73% to KSh 45.20 and moved 117,000 shares valued at KSh 5m. KCB Group remained at KSh 38.05 and sold shares worth KSh 2m.

    Safaricom was the day’s main feature and sold 2.6m shares valued at KSh 67m changing hands between KSh 26.00 and KSh 26.80, representing 54.29% of the day’s traded value.

    The bonds market had bonds worth KSh 4.1 billion transacted.
