Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Thursday’s trading declined from KSh 1.6 billion to KSh 1 billion while the number of shares traded also declined by nearly half to 19.5 million from the previous sessions 37 million.
The NSE 20 share index fell slightly by 18.89 points to 2041.22 with the banking sector transacting shares worth KSh 305 Million, accounting for 28.39 % of the days traded value.
Equity Bank was the most stock in the banking sector, moving 4.5 Million shares worth KSh 180 Million at between KSh 39.00 and KSh 42.00. KCB Group was down 6.44% to KSh 39.25 and moved 2.3 shares valued at KSh 93 Million. ABSA Bank declined by 1.79% to KSh 10.95 down from KSh 11.15 with shares worth KSh 11 Million.
Safaricom actively moved 6.6 Million shares valued at KSh 192 Million at between KSh 28.50 and KSh 30.45, accounting for 17.89 % of the day’s traded value.
The Bonds market had bonds worth KSh 2.2 Billion transacted.
