    NSE Daily Equity Turnover rises 83% to KSh 630.5 Million

    NSE Daily Equity Turnover rises 83% to KSh 630.5 Million


    Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) recorded an increase in daily equity turnover to KSh 630.5 Million from the previous KSh 344.6 Million with the volume of shares traded standing at 17.6 Billion from the previous 10.2 Million. The number of deals declined to 763 from the previous 793.


    The Nairobi Securities Exchange All Share Index was up 0.64 points to 167.10 while the NSE 25 Share Index was up 11.72 points to 1914.29. The NSE 25 share index was up 12.31 points to 3756.21


    Nairobi bourse Market Capitalization rose to KSh 2.60 Trillion from the previous KSh 2.5 Trillion

    NSE Top Gainers and Losers


    Eveready East Africa led the gainers with 7.14% share price appreciation closing at KSh 1.05 per share, followed by Nation Media Group (+7.05%), Kapchorua Tea Company (+4.19%) and Centum Investment Company (+3.9%).


    Nairobi Business Ventures led the laggards with a price depreciation of 6.27% at KSh 5.68 per share, followed by Olympia Capital Holdings (-5%), Uchumi Supermarket (-4.17%) and HF Group (-2.56%).


    Safaricom recorded the highest volume of 9.41 million traded shares, followed by Equity Group Holdings (4.7million), Kenya Power & Lighting Company (1.4million) and ScanGroup (609,200).


    The secondary bonds market had a turnover of KSh 486.2 Million in 24 deals from the previous KSh 1.4 billion in 29 deals.
    The derivatives market had 4 contracts worth KSh 118, 280 from the previous 10 contracts worth KSh 399,550
