NSE Kenya raises Sh 6Mn to support Wildlife

Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has announced that it raised over Kshs.5.8 Million on Friday during its second annual charity trading day to bring the total amount raised over 2 years to Kshs. 13.1 Million.

NSE hosted market participants, the financial community and celebrities to help raise funds towards charitable efforts. They make calls to clients on behalf of dealers and encourage them to make trade on that day in support of charity.

Speaking during the Event, the NSE Chairman, Mr. Sam Kimani said “Since its launch, the NSE Charity Trading Day continues to make a great impact in our society. By donating our days’ trading revenues one day each year, while raising funds from various corporates, we continue to positively transform our community through wildlife and nature conservation while supporting various humanitarian causes”.

Mr. Kimani also noted, “All the equity trading revenues will be donated to diverse charity organizations selected by the Exchange with the lead beneficiary being Save the Elephant for its conservation efforts being undertaken on the Tsavo tracking project in conjunction with the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS).”
