    NSE Daily Equity Turnover slides 39% to KSh 382.5 Million

    NSE Daily Equity Turnover slides 39% to KSh 382.5 Million

    Nairobi Securities Exchange recorded a decline in equity turnover to KSh 382.5 Million from the previous day’s KSh 630.5 Million.

    The number of shares traded also declined to 9.5 Million from the previous day’s 17.6 Million while number of deals rose to 799 from the previous day’s 763.

    The NSE All Share Index was up 2.14 points to close at 169.24 while the NSE 20 Share Index was up 3,21 points to close at 1917.50. The NSE 25 Share Index gained 31.99 points to close the day at 3788.20

    The secondary bonds market had a turnover of KSh 209.1 Million from 36 deals compoared to a turnover of KSh 486.2 Million in 24 deals previously.

    The derivatives market had 6 contracts worth KSh 137,280 compared to 4 contracts worth KSh 118.280 previously.

    NSE TOP PRICE GAINERS AND LOSERS

    The top price gainers were led by TransCentury, which was up 10% to KSh 1.32 followed by Olympia Capital which gained 3.16% to KSh 1.96; Housing Finance which gained 2.63% to KSh 3.90, Safaricom which was up 2.36% to KSh 39.05 and Nation Media Group which was up 1.27% to KSh 20.00 per share.

    The worst performers were led by Kapchorua Tea which was down 9.55% to KSh 90.00, NBV which lost 9.51%, Home Afrika which declined by 7,50%, Bank of Kigali which lost 6.90% and EGAD which lost 4.81% to KSh 12.85.

    The biggest movers were Safaricom( 4.12 Million), Equity(2.16 Million), KCB( 1.62 Million), WPPScanGroup( 448,500)and KPLC(256,400).
