    NSE Daily Equity Turnover up 10% to KSh 412.4 Million

    NSE Daily Equity Turnover up 10% to KSh 412.4 Million

    Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) recorded a 10% increase in Equity Turnover to KSh 412.4 Million compared to KSh 375.4 Million when trading closed at the bourse on Friday last week.

    A total of 13,153,700,600 shares in 947 deals were traded this Monday, a 23% improvement compared to 10,958,300 shares in 1,059 deals when the bourse closed on Friday last week.

    Eaagads led the gainers with 8.59% share price appreciation closing at KSh 13.90 per share, followed by Nairobi Securities Exchange which gained 7.69% to close at KSh 9.80, Uchumi Supermarket which rose by 4.55% to KSh 1.09, Eveready East Africa which rose by 3.81% to KSh 1.09 and Trans Century which was up 3.70% to close at KSh 1.40

    Nairobi Business Ventures was the day’s worst performer at the NSE with a price depreciation of 8.66% to KSh 6.54 per share, followed by Sameer Africa- which was down 5.14% to KSh 3.32, Liberty Kenya Holdings which declined by4.67% to 7.76, Home Afrika which fell by 2.56% to KSh 0.38 and HFCK, whose shares fell by 2.45% to KSh 3.98.

    Safaricom was the day’s prime mover with a volume of 7.59 million traded shares, followed by Absa Bank Kenya (3.06Million), Kenya Power & Lighting Company (930,400 shares) KCB Group (550,500 shares) and Stanlib Fahari-Income REIT which moved 331,900 shares.

    NSE INDICES

    The NSE All-Share Index was up 0.26 points to close at 178.07 while the NSE 20 Share Index was up 15.65 points to 2,055.40. The NSE 25 Share Index was up 6.14 points to close at 3924.61.

    The Derivatives Market had 34 contracts concluded valued at KSh 1,523, 430 compared to 15 contracts valued at KSh 676,110.
    The Secondary Bonds Market has a bonds turnover of KSh 2.8 Billion in 71 deals compared to KSh 6.3 Billion in 169 deals at the previous trading session on Friday last week.

    In terms of corporate actions, Jubilee Holdings is to pay an interim dividend of KSh 1.00 per share on 11th October 2021 while NCBA shareholders will receive their interim dividend of KSh 0.75 on October 12th 2021 to those who were on the register when it closes on 28th September 2021.
