    NSE Daily Equity Turnover Ups to KSh 327 Million

    NSE Daily Equity Turnover Ups to KSh 327 Million

    The Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) increased market turnover to KSh 327 million from the previous KSh 184 million. At the same time, the number of shares traded this Wednesday stood at 14 million from the previous day’s 7 million.

    The NSE Derivatives Market had 3 contracts valued at KSh 90,000 transacted in today’s trading session.

    The Safaricom Single Stock Futures contract expiring on 16th June 2022 traded 3 contracts valued at KSh 90,000 at KSh 30.00. This is against Safaricom’s closing price of KSh 29.45 in the spot market.

    The Banking Sector had shares worth KSh87million transacted, which accounted for 26.77% of the day’s traded value. KCB Group actively moved 1.5million shares valued at KSh 53million between KSh34.50 and KSh35.55.

    Equity Group Holdings, down 0.86% to KSh 45.85, moved 366,000 shares valued at KSh 16.8Million. NCBA Group moved 194,000 shares valued at KSh 5million and closed at KSh 26.60.

    The Energy & Petroleum sector had shares valued at KSh 1.79million traded, representing 0.55% of the day’s traded value. KenGen moved 326,000 shares valued at KSh 1.1million at between KSh3.45 and KSh3.52.
    The Insurance sector had shares valued at KSh1.79million traded, representing 0.55% of the day’s traded value.

    Britam Holdings moved 151,000 shares worth KSh1million at a fairly stable price of KSh 6.64.

    The Manufacturing & Allied sector had shares valued at KSh 29million traded, representing 8.93% of the day’s traded value. E.A Breweries traded 204,000 shares valued at KSh 28.7million at between KSh140.00 and KSh142.50.

    NSE Most Active Counter

    Safaricom was the day’s main feature, with 6.9million shares valued at KSh 203million changing hands between KSh 28.00 and KSh 30.50; this represented 62.11% of the day’s traded value.

    The Bond market had bonds worth KSh 3.3billion transacted.
