    NSE Equity Market Turnover Hits KSh 482 Million

    NSE Equity Market Turnover Hits KSh 482 Million

    Trading on Monday at the Nairobi Securities Exchange saw a turnover of KSh 482.19 million in 789 deals. A total of 18.67 million shares were traded.

    Safaricom was the top mover of the day with a turnover of Ksh 444.28 million in 127 deals. Safaricom was trading at an average of Ksh 27.50 per share closing the day with a 0.72% share price depreciation. A total of 16.16 million Safaticom shares were traded.

    East African Breweries Ltd realized a turnover of Ksh 15.83 million in 9 deals. EABL was trading at an average of Ksh 153.00 per share. EABL closed with a 1.29% end of day share price depreciation.

    KCB Group realized a turnover of Ksh 7.76 million trading at an average of Ksh 32.95 per share. Co-operative Bank was trading between Ksh 10.25 and Ksh 11.30 realizing a turnover of Ksh 3.39 million

    Equity Group Holdings saw a turnover of Ksh 1.71 million trading at an average price of Ksh 31.20. Equity closed the day with a 0.95% share price depreciation.

    KPLC saw a turnover of Ksh 1.09 million trading at an average of Ksh 1.90 per share. Kenya Re-Insurance saw a volume of 391,900 shares traded in 33 deals to close at Ksh 2.37 per share. Kenya Re Half-Year Net Profit rose to KSh 1.6 Billion

    Top gainer of the day was Bamburi with a 7.03% share price appreciation to close at Ksh 26.65 per share. Other gainers of the day were: HF Group (5.65%), Standard Chartered (5.44%), Olympia Capital(4.80%) and Absa(4.41%). Absa realized a turnover of Ksh 1.48 million closing at Ksh 9.00 per share.

    WPP ScanGroup shed off 8.67% of its share price value to close at Ksh 9.06 per share. Other losers of the day were: East African Cables(8.10%), Sameer Africa(6.61%), Uchumi Supermarkets(6.25%) and Umeme(5.71%)

    The NSE All Share Index gained 0.76% to close at 130.58. The NSE 20 share index shed off 0.07% to close at 1758.08 while the NSE 25 gained 0.76% to close at 2990.66
