The Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) recorded a rise in equity turnover to KSh 713.6 Million, an increase from KSh 103.9 Million on Monday.
This is an increase of 586.35 from close of the previous trading session.
The number of shares traded increased significantly to 20.5 Million from the previous 3.8 Million shares, while equity deals increased to 900 from the previous session’s 862.
The NSE indices were all up with the benchmark NSE All Share Index(NASI), gaining 1.51 points to close at 156.50, while the NSE 20 Share Index was up 10.58 points to 1857.38. The NSE 25-Share Index was up 17.43 points to close at 3558.65
The Derivatives market had three contracts worth KSh 105,000 from the previous 25 contracts worth KSh 383,020 concluded at the previous session’s close.
Secondary trading in the bonds market had a turnover of KSh 5.4 Billion from 124 deals against a turnover of KSh 2.7 Billion in 67 deals at the end of the previous trading session.
The top gainers were Uchumi and Crown Paints Kenya Plc. Uchumi Supermarkets Plc gained 5.56% from the previous KSh 0.18 to KSh 0.19, while Crown Paints also rose 5.56% from KSh 36.00 to KSh 38.00 and moved a total of 175,500 shares compared to Uchumi, which moved 3,500 shares.
Safaricom Plc sold 16,427,400 shares between KSh 34.10 and KSh 34.70, a price change of KSh 0.60 or 1.76%.
