    NSE Daily Equity Turnover rises to KSh 447M

    Nairobi Securities Exchange( NSE) began the week with 13million shares valued at KSh 447million, against 7.95million shares valued at Kes.273million posted on Friday.

    The NSE 20 share Index was down 8.26 points to stand at 1672.27. All Share Index NASI shed 3.46 points to stand at 129.06. The NSE 25 Share Index shaved off 66.66 points to settle at 3020.44.

    In today’s trading session, the Derivatives Market traded ten contracts valued at KSh322,000. The KCB Single Stock Futures contract expiring on 16th June 2022 sold six contracts valued at KSh211,000 at a price of KSh35.25. This is against KCB’s closing price of KSh35.55 in the spot market.

    The Banking Sector had shares worth KSh180million transacted, which accounted for 40.32% of the day’s traded value.

    KCB Group actively moved 2.8million shares valued at KSh99million at between KSh 35.00 and KSh 36.00.

    Equity Group Holdings, down 3.69% to KSh43.05, moved 1.5M shares valued at KSh 64M.

    NSE RECORDS SAFARICOM AS THE DAY’S MAIN FEATURE

    NCBA Group moved 454,000 shares valued at KSh11.8million and closed at KSh26.00. The Co-operative Bank moved 195,000 shares worth KSh2.3million at a relatively stable price of KSh11.60.

    The Investment sector had shares valued at KSh 3.5million traded, representing 0.79% of the day’s traded value. Centum sold 352,000 shares valued at KSh3.5million at between KSh9.40 and KSh10.95.

    The Manufacturing & Allied sector had shares valued at KSh107million traded, representing 24.03% of the day’s traded value. E.A Breweries closed 1.23% lower to KSh141.00 on a volume of 758,000 shares valued at KSh107million.

    Safaricom was the day’s main feature, with 5.7million shares valued at KSh152million changing hands between KSh 26.05 and KSh28.00; this represented 34.08% of the day’s traded value.

    The Bond market had bonds worth KSh 4.3billion transacted.
