    NSE Daily Equity Turnover Declines 84.8% to KSh 120M

    NSE Daily Equity Turnover Declines 84.8% to KSh 120M

    NSE Daily Equity Turnover declined to KSh 120Million from the previous sessions KSh 790Million, the number of shares traded stood at 5Million against 32.8Million posted yesterday.

    The top price gainer at the NSE was Fahari I-REIT whose share price increased by 9.29% from KSh 5.60 to KSh 6.12 while the top loser was Crown Paints declined by 9.09% from KSh 44.00 to KSh 40.00

    The Derivatives Market had a total of 16 contracts valued at KSh 299,000 transacted in today’s trading session. The Safaricom Single Stock Futures contract expiring in 15th September 2022 traded 6 contracts valued at KSh 141,000 at a price of KSh23.50. This is against a closing price of KSh 23.50 posted by Safaricom in the spot market.

    NSE had Banking Sector as the most active

    The Banking Sector had shares worth KSh60.9Million transacted which accounted for 50.55% of the day’s traded value. Equity Group Holdings actively moved 1Million shares valued at KSh.41.6Million at between KSh 39.00 and KSh.40.00. KCB Group down 1.08% to Kes.36.50 moved 442,000 shares valued at KSh16Million. Co-operative Bank moved 131,000 shares valued at KSh1.4Million and closed at KSh10.75.

    Safaricom had 502,000 shares valued at KSh 11.8Million transacted at between KSh 23.35 and KSh.23.80; this represented 9.79% of the day’s traded value.

    The Manufacturing & Allied sector had shares valued at KSh.31.75Million traded representing 26.31% of the day’s traded value. E.A Breweries down 0.84% to KSh117.75 moved 265,000 shares valued at KSh 31Million.

    The Energy & Petroleum sector had shares valued at KSh13.9 Million traded representing 11.52% of the day’s traded value. Umeme Limited traded 1.5Million shares valued at KSh 12 Million at between KSh 7.70 and KSh.8.00. KenGen moved 474,000 shares valued at KSh.1.6Million and closed at KSh 3.40.

    The NSE 20 share Index was down 11.41 points to stand at 1569.10. All Share Index NASI shed 0.32 points to settle at 118.30. The NSE 25 Share Index lost 13.81 points to settle at 2784.96.
