    NSE 20 Share Index Crosses 3000 Mark for First Time in March 2017

    Nairobi Securities Exchange Benchmark NSE 20 Share Index on Tuesday’s trading gained by 17.20 points to close the day at 3,007.90 points, highest level since the 28th February this year.

    “The index was pushed by 11 representative counters that gained compared to four that lost. NSE 25 Share Index was up 0.63% to 3,376.68 points.” Sterling Capital noted in a market report.

    The All Share Index on the other hand closed the day at 127.78 points, its highest level since  January 10th as shown in the chart below. Market Capitalization was up by Ksh 8.50Billion to Ksh 1,852.48Bn.

    “Banking sector controlled the market with 63.61% of volume and 73.33% of value traded moving 14.83Mn shares values at KES 337.66Mn. Equity, BBK and KCB saw a high demand influenced by foreign interest.” Sterling Capital.
