Nation Media Group launched a knowledge-based product called Kusi Ideas Festival an Annual International Ideas Conference which will be first held on October 24 and 25 at the Kigali Convention Centre under the theme “The Next 60 Years in Africa.”
Kusi Festival is part of NMG 60th anniversary celebrations to create a transaction market for the ideas and innovations shaping Africa in a bid to capitalize on the opportunities and innovations available for Africa.
The name ‘Kusi’ comes after the southerly wind that over the centuries made possible trade, cultural, and intellectual exchanges in the Indian Ocean circle, and partly shaped the nations on the east side of Africa and its hinterland and the wider Indian Ocean rim,”
The festival is pan-African and advocates for the growing African influence in the 21st Century aided by the huge presence of fibre optic cable in the Indian Ocean that makes the Information Age possible in large part of Africa.
The event will be held in different African cities over the years.
