Nation Media Group enters podcasting space

Nation Media Group (NMG), the leading publishing house in the Eastern Africa region, has entered the podcast space as competition in the media industry heats up.

Nation Africa digital brand will house this new Nation Audio product, moving competition in the podcast space already featuring several online publications, a notch higher.

This milestone comes against the backdrop of the ever-increasing new-age consumer needs for on-demand content and audio streaming.

“This new product will enable us to transform the way our audience discover, enjoy and engage with African stories,” said Stephen Gitagama Nation Media Group CEO adding that the podcast will offer NMG the opportunity to expand its revenue streams.

A podcast is simply a digital audio file that is accessible online and is downloadable to a mobile devise or computer.

Nation Audio initially went on air on November 19th, 2020 with the release of the first podcast series Case Number Zero: An investigation into the disappearance of journalist turned blogger Bogonko Bosire.

According to the Kantar 2020 media trends, podcasts are the fastest-growing channels for advertising spend because of their intimate and highly personal nature offers that offer advertisers a receptive niche audience.

The podcast space offers media houses a platform to give more content and increase their revenues.
