The Central Depository & Settlement Corporation Limited (CDSC), the primary provider of clearing and settlement services in the Kenya Capital Markets, has announced that Mr. Nkoregamba Mwebesa has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive. Mr. Mwebesa has been at the helm of the company since February 2020.
According to industry sources, Mr. Mwebesa has been appointed CEO of Liberty Life Assurance Kenya Limited, a subsidiary of Liberty Kenya Holdings.
Mr Mwebesa has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector across East Africa. Prior to joining CDSC, Nkoregamba has been the Managing Director of Stanlib Kenya Limited (Stanlib) from 2016. He has previously, worked as Chief Executive of SBG Securities Limited
Nkoregamba also served as CEO of the Nairobi Securities Exchange from 2005 to 2008 where he led the implementation of the Automated Trading System, oversaw 12 new equity listings including KENGEN and Safaricom.
New CDSC CEO Jesse Kagoma
Effective September 1, 2023, Mr. Jesse Kagoma will assume the position of Chief Executive of CDSC. Jesse has previously served as the General Manager of Business Support Services and CFO. He joined CDSC in May 2018 and boasts an impressive career spanning over 19 years in various aspects of financial management and business strategy.
He holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Business Management with a focus on Finance & Banking from Moi University. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Mr. Mwebesa, who has been at the helm of the company since February 2020, has been instrumental in guiding CDSC through challenging times, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, he has decided to explore new career opportunities, and the Board of Directors extends their appreciation for his invaluable contributions and wishes him success in his future endeavors.
