NilePay takes mobile money services to South Sudan

NilePay PLC, an Electronic Financial Services Company, has partnered with Zain South Sudan to offer mobile money services in South Sudan. The service dubbed NilePay Mobile Money the first licensed mobile money service in Africa’s youngest nation.

The new service will enable locals to take full advantage of global e-commerce, by offering secure mobile payment solutions. According to CGTN Africa, Zain South Sudan CEO Magdi Taha said,” this partnership will bring in more mobile wallet services to South Sudan market by offering customers a convenient and secure platform to withdraw and deposit money to their accounts.”

NilePay expects to provide services to 2 million active customers in South Sudan. Previously, South Sudanese had been relying on unlicensed operators to transfer money through platforms created by MTN Uganda and Kenya’s M-Pesa

NilePay Mobile Money Director Darius Mobe said,” NilePay Mobile Service’s partnership with Zain South Sudan is part of the company’s long-term strategy to enable e-commerce and digital financial services across the country.”
