The Board of Jubilee Life Insurance Corporation of Tanzania Limited has announced the appointment of Ms Helena Christopher Mzena as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Mzena has been the company’s, Chief Financial Officer. She joined the underwriter in 2011 and has held various senior management positions in both Jubilee Insurance Company of Tanzania and Jubilee Life Insurance Corporation of Tanzania Limited.
She is considered a highly experienced professional with an extensive background in strategy and leadership. She has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry.
Ms Mzena has previously worked with firms in Tanzania and the UK, including Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited-Tanzania, NTT Europe Limited UK, and UK local authority.
Her contributions to Jubilee
At Jubilee Life Insurance, she has been instrumental in Leadership, Strategy and Business Development, Finance and Budgeting, Risk Management, Compliance and Controls, and strengthening the company’s Governance Structures.
She holds a Master’s degree in financial management from Liverpool’s John Moore University and a bachelor’s degree in finance and financial information systems from the University of Greenwich, UK.
She also has an international post-graduate diploma in Life Insurance from the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management, a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute-UK, a fellow member of ACCA, ACPA Tanzania, has a senior management leadership certificate from Strathmore University and a certified female future leadership with ATE/ESAMI University Business School.
