In a public notice dated 18 March 2018, the Ministry of Lands has announced temporary closure of its Nairobi and Central offices as it prepares to roll out a Land Management Information System (LIMS).
The Ministry of Lands will introduce online services in line with its objectives of formulating and coordinating “implementation of policies and legal framework for sustainable land management” and ensuring “efficient and effective administration and management of land resources.”
“To achieve a fully digitised environment, the Ministry requires to ensure that all the records are scanned and that the data is clean in preparation for online services. This exercise will begin in Nairobi and will be cascaded to all other Registries across the country,” Dr Nicholas Muraguri, PS Ministry of Lands states.
