    Market Turnover at NSE Declines 17% to KSh 490.7 Million

    Market Turnover at NSE Declines 17% to KSh 490.7 Million


    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) plunged 17% to KSh 490.7 Million when trading closed on Wednesday.

    Flame Tree Group Holdings led the gainers with 9.38% share price appreciation closing at KSh 1.05 per share, followed by Equity Group.

    Release of its end-year earnings pushed TPS Eastern Africa Plc (Serena) share price up 3.20% to KSh12.90.

    Kenya Airways led the losers with a price depreciation of 21.97% closing at KSh 2.70 per share. Other losers were Standard Group, East African Cables, and STANLIB Fahari Income REIT.

    Safaricom recorded the highest volume of 5.6 million traded shares, followed by KCB (4.11 Million), Kenya Airways (1.79 Million), and Kenya Power (1.06 Million).

    The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] declined 1.13 points to close at 137.81. The NSE 20 Share Index declined 33.10 points to close at 1976.50. The NSE 25 Share Index declined 21.71 points to close at 3222.96.

    Activity on the secondary bond market on the Nairobi Securities Exchange soared, with bonds worth KSh 3.46 Billion traded compared to KSh 2.48 Billion traded in the previous session.
