    Markets at Midday; Uchumi Up 264% YTD and DTB Hits Fresh 2020 Highs

    Wednesday Midday NSE Market Update (1:00 PM EAT)

    Uchumi has extended its rally. The stock is trading at KSh 0.62, up 8.77%, its highest level since June 2019. It is now up 264% YTD, the second-best performer this year after Sameer’s 463% YTD rise.

    DTB is trading at KSh 115.25, slightly higher on the day, after touching an intraday high of KSh 118.00. This level was last seen in January 2020.

    NSE Total market turnover stands at KSh 875M. The most active counters are KCB (KSh 284M), Equity (KSh 165M), Co-op (KSh 150M), NCBA (KSh 98M) and EABL (KSh 97M).

    Foreign activity is balanced. Foreign buys stand at KSh 38M, with KCB accounting for KSh 37M alone. Foreign sells sit at KSh 41M, with Stanbic contributing KSh 36M.

    Top gainers at midday are Flame Tree (+9.79%), Africa Mega (+9.75%), and Uchumi (+8.77%).
    Main losers are Standard Group (–7.52%), ScanGroup (–4.96%), and Unga (–3.89%).
    The NASI is up 0.25% at midday.
