Listed Longhorn Publishers shareholders are expected to ratify a decision by the firm to open a subsidiary in Delaware, United States, and another in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
These resolutions among a list of agenda items to be deliberated upon during the firm’s upcoming virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for 26th November 2020, at 11.00 am.
The US subsidiary is to be set up in partnership with Akili Ventures LLC while the firm plans to register Longhorn Greymatter SARL- its new subsidiary in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This shareholders’ meeting will also approve the firm’s financial statements for the year ended 30th June 2020 and re-elect Raymond Nyamweya Ondieki, Mrs. Truphosa Kwaka-Sumba, and Ms. Emma Miloyo, who have offered themselves for re-election.
Registration for this AGM opened on 4th November 2020 at 11.00 am and will close on Monday 23rd November 2020, at 11.00 am.
Longhorn Publishers Plc is a Pan-African publishing house that is listed at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), with LawAfrica Publishing(K) Limited as one of its major subsidiaries.
It already has a presence in Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania with footprints in Malawi, Cameroon, Zambia, Senegal, Namibia, and Senegal through distributorships.
Directors of the firm have not recommended any dividend payments for the year ended 30th June 2020.
The firm made a net loss of KSh 225.87 Million in 2020, down from a net profit of KSh 185.125 Million in 2019.
