    Longhorn Publishers Expands into DRC

Longhorn Publishers has expanded to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), seeking to tap the country’s vast market of 20 million learners, as well as boost shareholder returns.

The entry into DRC where it has received government approval for nine book titles comes two years after its successful entry to Cameroon.

Longhorn Publishers Plc is a Pan-African publishing house that is listed at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), with LawAfrica Publishing(K) Limited as one of its major subsidiaries.

It already has a presence in Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania with footprints in Malawi, Cameroon, Zambia, Senegal, Namibia, and Senegal through distributorships.

Longhorn recorded a net profit of KSh15 million in the year ended December 2021, reversing a net loss of KSh145.3 million a year earlier.

Business Daily reports that the improved earnings were driven by higher sales which more than tripled to KSh960.9 million amid increased purchase of books and other learning materials.
