Local airlines have increased their flights frequencies to holiday destinations, a move aimed at meeting the high travel demand of the approaching festive season.

For instance, Jambojet has added 54 additional flights per week on most of the routes that it flies. These include 11 additional return flights to Mombasa, six to Ukunda six, five to Malindi, two to Kisumu and three to Eldoret.

On the other hand, SafariLink Airline has added three additional flights to their coastal routes of Ukunda, Lamu and Vipingo. They have also scheduled three additional flightts to Kisumu.

However, the increase in frequency in flights also comes laden with increased ticket prices from the local airlines.

As highlighted by Kenyan Business Feed, prices for Jambojet will this week range from KSh4,300 to KSh7,800 depending on the time of flight. Late-hour flights tend to be cheaper. On the flip side, Skyward Express will be charging between KSh5,500 and KSh8,950 in December depending on the day.

Fly540 will be charging between Sh12,000 and Sh5,300 in the first weeks of December with the fares increasing to between KSh12,000 and KSh15,000 in the Christmas week
