KQ to Operate Daily London Flights in New Route Review

Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced a route network review that is aimed to help the airline recovery from the Covid -19 pandemic that saw the aviation industry record loses from travel restrictions.

In a statement, KQ said it plans to increase frequency for London route throughout Winter from planned five times weekly to daily marking the fastest recovery to pre-Covid schedule.

Hower flights from Nairobi to Kisumu were reduced from 26 flights to 17 flights weekly attributing it to low season.

Similarly, KQ has postponed the launch to the Italian cities of Miland and Rome previously planned for June 8 2022 due to reduced passenger demand as a result of slower than expected recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We continue to serve Italy through our European destinations: London, Paris, and Amsterdam connecting to our SkyTeam Partner Airlines, ITA (Italia Trasporto Aereo) and Air France-KLM,”

Juba-Khartoum route operation day was also changed to Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to cater for Sudan Weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) effective Feb 20.

The airline noted that the review ‘will be adjusted as the world continues to open up and opportunities for growth continue to show themselves.
