KQ has temporarily suspended its flights to France and the Netherlands following new COVID-19 regulations in Europe which have lowered demand. The suspension of flights to France’s Charles de Gaulle Airport and Netherland’s Schiphol Airport will last throughout February.
The national carrier said it expects to resume flights to France on March 3 and the Netherlands on March 7, 2021.
“The airline expects to resume regular services to France on March 3, 2021, and to the Netherlands on March 7 2021, and will keep customers updated in case of any changes to these resumption plans,” reads a Friday statement from KQ.

France and the Netherlands are not the only KQ routes affected by the resurgence of COVID-19 in Europe and other parts of the world. In an interview with Citizen Digital, Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka said the airline challenges in Paris and Amsterdam and restrictions to India and Bangkok. However, the CEO says KQ is recording rising demand to China and India.
“We do however have a number of restrictions including the number of seats and flight frequencies which we can deploy to destinations such as India and Bangkok,” he said.
Earlier in January, KQ suspended its two weekly flights to Seychelles, following increased COVID-19 cases in the Indian Ocean tourist destination.
