KPMG East Africa will be running a media training workshop on Environmental Social Governance(ESG) and Accounting Standards.
KPMG is holding this workshop together with the Media Council of Kenya.
ESG is increasingly becoming a reporting requirement, consequently thrusting it to the top of agendas for companies, investors, executives, regulators, and policymakers.
More than ever before, organizations are under scrutiny to demonstrate and report their ESG commitments by diverse stakeholders, including the public, as ESG becomes a major share driver.
On the other hand, IFRS Standards have evolved over time, and a good number of standards have taken effect or will do so in the near future with a significant impact on companies’ financial statements.
Journalists will be trained to interpret IFRS reporting requirements and their impact on a company’s financial standing.
Additionally, they will be trained on how to interpret ESG reporting in a company’s financial statements and how it is essential to diverse stakeholders, including the public.
KPMG East Africa and the Media Council of Kenya will hold this free virtual training for business journalists on ESG and IFRS reporting on 12 May 2022.
A certificate will be awarded to those who successfully complete 120 minutes of training.
