At the 63rd Annual General Meeting of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) held on 31st May 2018, shareholders of the company approved the appointment of Kiprono Kittony, Paul Wachira Mwai and Riser Alaro-Mukoto to the company’s board of directors.
Kiprono Kittony
Mr. Kiprono Kittony joins the board in the capacity of an independent Non-Executive Director. He currently serves as Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, a premiere business membership organization in Kenya. He is a well known personality in business leadership circles in Kenya as he also chairs on the following boards; – CreditInfo CRB Kenya Limited, AAR Insurance Limited, MtechLimited and Radio Africa Group (which he co-founded in 2000).
Paul Wachira Mwai
Mr. Paul Mwai currently serves as the Chief Executive of AIB Capital and Chairman of Kenya Association of Stockbrokers & Investment Banks (KASIB). Mr Wachira was appointed to the NSE board as a Non-Executive Director to represent the interests of the trading members.
Paul has over twenty years experience in the financial services industry including fund management and investment banking.
Risper Alaro-Mukoto
Ms Mukoto is the former CEO of Centum Business Solutions Ltd (CBSL), a subsidiary of Centum Investment Ltd.
She describes herself as a seasoned business leader with over 17 years’ experience in financial and operational management in the investment sector. She is also a certified Executive Leadership Coach and a motivational speaker.
Chairman, Vice Chairman & Auditors
Samuel Kimani and Bob Karina retained their positions as Chairman and vice-chairman respectively while PwC was retained as the external audit firm.
Exits
Jimna Mbaru; Chairman & owner of Dyer & Blair Investment Bank also exited the board after he attained retirement age of 70.
Others whose term came to an end are Centum Investments CEO James Mworia and Dr Winnie Nyamute.
