President Uhuru Kenyatta has eased restrictions on movement in three counties; Nairobi, Mandera, and Mombasa. He says that Kenya has reached a reasonable level of preparedness thus the decision to reopen.
There will be phased reopening with close monitoring of the situation. The cessation of movement into and out of Nairobi Metropolitan Area, Mombasa county, and Mandera county shall lapse at 4 am July 7.
However, the president extended the nationwide curfew that currently runs from 9 pm to 4 am for a further 30 days.

Public service vehicles will operate in and out of the areas previously under cessation of movement restriction subject to mandatory certification from the Ministry of Health and the ministry of transport.
Local air travel shall resume on Wednesday, 15th July 2020; in strict conformity with all applicable guidelines and protocols from both the Ministry of Health and civil aviation authorities.
International Air Travel shall resume on 1st August 2020 subject to adherence to all protocols from the Ministry of Health, local and international civil aviation authorities, and any additional requirements applicable at the ports of departure, arrival or transit.
In addition, places of worship will have phased re-opening for congregation worship provided they adhere to the social distancing guidelines. In this case, only a maximum of 100 participants will be allowed at each worship ceremony. Sunday school and Madrasa shall remain suspended. Persons under the age of 13 years or above 58 years shall not be allowed in places of worship.
The president directed that the ministry of education notifies the public on the resumption of the 2020 academic calendar for basic education and tertiary institutions.
