Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Planning Ukur Yatani is expected to present the 2022/23 budget statement to parliament on April 7th 2022, the last such official function for him as the curtain falls on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
Kenya’s Treasury seeking for ideas on policy and tax measures
According to a statement from Julius Muia, Principal Secretary/ The National Treasury, Kenya’s Treasury CS is inviting contributions and ideas on policy and tax measures from Kenyans for the 2022/23 Budget.
The proposals should be centered on measures to enhance economic relilience and accelerate economic recovery; ways to improve livelihoods, cushion the vulnerable citizens and generate more employment opportunities for Kenyans; suggestions on how to fast track implementation of Government priority programmes under the ‘Big Four’ Agenda to accelerate economic recovery and improve livelihoods; specific ways to accelerate recovery and growth of the private sector and MSMEs; tips on how to foster a secure and conducive business environment to promote investment growth, business recovery and jobs creation; how to integrate the youth and women into accelerating sustainable economic recovery; ways to enhance revenue mobilization, prudently manage public resources and effectively deal with corruption; and Any other budget tips or suggestions.
The tips and suggestions should be share by the National Treasury by close of business on 22nd March 2022 for consideration, to the email [email protected] with a copy to [email protected].
